it seems that many of us are too rushed to appreciate each day...we're so busy going off to work, to school, to catch a plane or just simply busy being busy...years back we look forward on doing shorter work weeks and more leisure time...now we're so caught up in speed, gotta have it overnight, and computers that need to respond in nanoseconds, we don't take the time to appreciate the basic goodness of life....we are always rushing, i don;t know why or where, but we are always in a hurry....destinations we never quite reach even though we continue rushing to them each day....we become the proverbial dog chasing its tail....life is not a race, and if it were it would be a relay where we work with and support each other rather than compete, and be thankful that you see more of the time to enjoy everyday....bear in mind, what you give attention to grows...so, rather than giving attention to what you don't have, start focusing on and be thankful for what you have...often we live our lives on automatic, taking each experience for granted....we are so focused on the material aspects of life that we lose sight of everything else....be content, give thanks instead of complains, appreciate yourself of who you are and what you have...appreciate others for what they become and what they are to you...appreciation and gratitude gives you a deep sense of peace...so, be more conscious of all the good life has to offer and say thank you.

1. live your life with purpose, don't just do "whatever," or "whatever" might just be what you get
2. develop a compassionate spirit and a loving heart, you will feel better about yourself, and others will feel better about you.
3. be honest and guard your integrity no matter what the rest of the world is doing, they're not the ones who have to live with you - you are
4. believe in yourself and always do what's right, a clear conscience will keep you on the right path
5. be as good as your word and don't make promises you're not going to keep
6. be fair to others, especially those less fortunate, there may come a time you have to walk in their shoes
7. keep a positive attitude and speak encouraging words, you'll hear them rise up in you when you need them, and others will remember them when they need lifting up
8. don't take your natural talents for granted, use them to nourish your soul and to touch lives, and they will be multiplied
9. when you feel discouraged or unlucky, remember the times you've been fortunate, and that knowledge will help balance out your fears
10. remember that what you do today will show up tomorrow, so when you make important decisions think about tomorrow today.

"Uncertainty and mystery are energies of life. Don't let them scare
you unduly, for they keep boredom at bay and spark creativity."

when i read this quote my immediate reaction was to smirk
and say "yeah right"!!!, at least to the uncertainty portion...but then it got me thinking....not definitely for chronic worriers, but the quote has some truth in it....the great thing about life and what keeps it very exciting, is inspite of us trying to plan and predict....we have absolutely no clue what's in store until we actually live it....we may live under false sense of safety and security, thinking we have planned and envisioned carefully, that the chances of life springing your sudden surprises is kept to a bare minimum...however, most often this is not the case....events, people, places all have the possibility to become curve balls thrown at you, when you least expect it.....but the question is how much excitement can one take? even though we are all for adventure sports and exciting things, there are times when we rather sit back and live a simple life that hardly deviates from the ordinary....it may be perhaps there is only so much excitement we can handle as we grow older....we crave for stability rather than constant chaos....I for one love to travel....i have always thought it is one of life's simplest pleasures...to see new places, understand new culture, meet new faces or get a souvenir or two...but when life becomes a constant commute, the excitement is still there but it doesn't hold that much excitement anymore..it drives you crazy doing the same things over and over again...then you have that mix up feeling of uncertainty, you wanna try something new....as the quote say, boredom may be kept at bay, but your sanity too? i think only you can answer this for yourself....i guess a lot depends on the way we handle it....if you think wherever the road takes you, whatever happens, however things turn out...you will cooly take it all in your stride, and nothing could ever be so bad that you can't accept or adjust....then i think uncertainty and mysteries can certainly spice up your life....a small dose of both is definitely welcome...i think, what really makes the difference is accepting there will be surprises, good, bad and ugly...knowing you can handle it, and doing so gracefully, telling yourself whatever happens, it surely must be for the good.

it's been a long time, i hope everyone's well.....

today me and my friend was discussing again, probably for the nth time how crudely aggressive a lot of people are these days....for some unknown and quite idiotic reason they seem to enjoy spreading a sense of harm and fear among people around them....probably it's some animal like survival technique or maybe a reflection of their own insecurities....but the point is, aggression carries with it a whole lot of negativity, and in most cases, it is unwanted and unnecessary.

as much as i love the concept of "refined aggression", which points to a sense of being spiritedly competitive in something like sports or at work....i simply fail to understand why some people try to conquer and make others submit by sheer force or instilling fear....it only shows a total lack of basic human values, and reflects the hollow insides of the person.

other's seems to find a rush when the argue with others and get into a fight....they get high out of it...it's absurd! now that may be the other extreme and comically insane....but hey, at least show a little compassion....i'd rather deal with those that smile and insanely crazy individuals...at least they're fun to be with and they are extremely interesting....sighhh what a world we live in

there are few things in life that are inherently sources of calm and good cheer...one of those is a family pet...pets give us unconditional love and a steady, positive form of responsibility, and they offer us comfort regardless of what else might be going on in our lives...and we are actually healthier when we live our lives with pets.

our home is being shared with barney our miniature pinscher and paco the bird...everytime i come home from work after a long, hard day, when i pull over the drive way and lock the car the first thing i hear is paco, screaming hehow, then here comes barney pushing the door to let me in...he jumps up and down and spins in circle while barking...he looks at me with loving eyes that says by merely walking through the front door, i have made him the happiest dog in the world...while paco won't stop screaming hehow until i pet her.

according to the reports about pet update i read previously, 97% of pet owners reported that their pet makes them smile at least once a day...and 76% believe their pet eases their stress level...and that's true, animals have so much to teach us about love...the closer we get to them, the more joy they give us.

hayyyyy......i hate it when i get headaches...i really wonder why i get them sometimes just out of the blue...i guess, it's the weather, or maybe sunday is almost over and tomorrow is monday hahaha...i wonder if such symptoms could be regarded as a health hazard, leading to no work on mondays :) ....that would be nice, but unless i get an alternative way if earning an income, working on mondays will just continue.

i've been feeling quite tired these days, house, work, school and my babies...there's a few things that i need to rush and get a few things done...unfortunately, things have been quite slow...everytime i try to get to work on them, i start to get real tired, or maybe i am just being lazy...i been sleeping rather relatively early over the past few night...yet, i still feel the lack of energy...perhaps it's the crazy changing temperature here, it's been quite hot and cold these days...or might be a sign of boredom to?

oh well, whatever it is, i have to work on it and get it over with...but tonight, i think i will rest early for tomorrow...continuing like this isn't going to help anything at all.

did you ever feel that having all you wanted was not enough, that the desire for acquisition was a bottomless pit, a hole in one's life that could never be filled? if so, congratulations! YOU ARE TOTALLY HUMAN!

"having it all" is one of those great existentialist questions....as Oscar Wilde simply put it: there are two tragedies in life, not getting what you want and getting what you want....changing this two-headed tragedy of the human condition is simple...

the problem lies in the fact that we strive after transitory things - stuff...it means that the present economic bubble has literally seduced and bought us all into the notion that conspicuous consumption is a positive good - somewhat like Gordon Gekko's character in the movie "Wall Street" once maintained that "greed is good." people simply spend themselves into oblivion...they literally showered themselves with things, stuff....lavish stuff on loved ones, acquaintances, and even themselves with wild abandon...they played the music and overdanced it, when it's over, everything is over...simply over as in nothing left.

what is called for here is a bit of perspective...especially in this holiday seasons...everyone is trying to beat the blues with great extensive expenditures...i say, you can show love by not overspending...giving is a pleasure...and the greatest gifts are the one you give, not the ones you recieve...the truth of this concept is not knowledge that you are born with it, it is wisdom you learn...the joy of this idea is that, while you cannot control what you are given, you are always in-charge of what you give...the amazing thing about giving is that it becomes a new kind of receiving...one that truly satisfies even the emptiest of hearts...the gifts you give become your eternal treasure

of course, i love receiving gifts...but the superiority of giving over getting, gets more obvious to givers everytime they give...but while holidays and special days are marvelous opportunities to experience the blessing of giving, you are also in control of what you give and look beyond your present situation as to what is the limits the extent of your spending. everything is not always measured by our visa excess card expenditures.

we cannot spend our way into happiness...but we can always achieve well-being through proper perspective...meaning, understanding the real reason for the season...by understanding the reasons why we celebrate christmas and any special time of the year, we come to understand that a person is more than his/her stuff...ultimately, happiness is not found in stuff....rather, the gift of true happiness - in this christmas season and any other season is to be found in purposeful living and in the understanding that the only thing that is real and worthwhile is that which transcends the transitory such as our relationships with others, with people who love and choose to be together, to be a family, friends...and all the rest is window dressing.

the greatest gift you can give to someone is your love, companionship, compassion, respect and understanding of their well being....and if that's all there is, then i say that, that is the finest gift.

not everyone is healthy enough to have a front row seats in our lives...there are some people in our life that needs to be loved from a distance...it's amazing what we can accomplish when we let go of, or atleast minimize our time with draining, negative, incompatible, not-going anywhere relationships/friendships

observe the relationship around you...pay attention...which ones lift and which ones lean? which ones encourages and which ones discourage? which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are going downhill? when you leave certain people do you feel better or worse? which ones always have drama or don't really understand, know or appreciate you?

the more we seek quality, respect, growth, peace of mind, love and thruth around us...the easier it will become for us to decide who gets to sit in the front row and who should be moved to the balcony of our life..."if you cannot change the people around you, change the people you are around'...

remember that the people we hang with will have an impact on both our lives and our income...and so we must be careful to choose the people we hang out with, as well as the information with which we feed our minds...we should not share...we should not share our dreams with negative people, nor feed our dreams with negative thoughts...it's your choice and your life ...it's up to you who and what you let in it........
